Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone pgs. 75-150 (75 pgs.)

Summer break begins which brings Harry relief from being tormented by Dudley's freind's at school. Harry is definitely not respected and given the short end of the stick in almost every situation. For example, his aunt and uncle decide to send him to a public school while they decide to send their son to a private school. Harry begins receiving strange mail, but he can't read the letters that are addressed to him because his uncle starts burning the mail. Each time a letter is burned it seems as if twice as many are sent again. The house at one point begins to be filled with letters to the point where Harry's aunt and uncle evacuate. Everyone goes to a lake cottage hoping the letters will stop. If I were Harry I would wonder so much about what was being hidden from me. I would also worry about my safety because it's not like he has anyone looking out for him. What if the letters are from someone who he should be afraid of? Why was it such a problem that they all had to leave the house? While Harry is counting down to midnight (his birthday) someone bangs on the cottage door. A man named Hagrid introduces himself as the keeper of the grounds of Hogwarts, a school for witches and wizards. He takes Harry with him after much debate from Harry's guardians. Harry finds out that he's a wizard. He is told the story of how his parents really died, and he is told that he will enrole to Hogwarts. I feel like it is a lot to take in, but probably relieving for Harry to leave his aunt and uncle. He has nothing but good things to look forward to, and finally a place to belong.
