Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone pgs. 150-225 (75 pgs.)

After resting for the night Harry wakes up to an owl by his side. The owl has a letter for Harry which is a list of the supplies he will need for Hogwarts. Hagrid reads in the newspaper that the Ministry of Magic wants Dumbledore as minister. Hagrid explains that Dumbledore would never leave Hogwarts though. Cornelius Fudge received the position instead. Harry and Hagrid go to the bank to retrieve the money that Harry's parents left for him. They then go to a bar called The Leaky Cauldron where they see Professor Quirrell. He is a brilliant man. Through a hidden entrance behind the bar Harry and Hagrid enter Diagon Alley where they shop for Harry's supplies. When it comes time to purchase a wand Harry's match is the brother wand to Voldemort's wand. I find it ironic that Harry's wand would be the brother to the wand that killed his parents. Harry gets his ticket for the train to leave for school, and Hagrid buys him a owl which he names Hedwig. Harry has trouble finding the platform 9 and 3/4. He sees another wizard family using a secret entrance and follows behind them. He then sits with the boy he followed through the entrance on the train. The boys name is Ron Weasely, and he is a first year as well. The boys then meet another first year named Hermoine. Both Ron and Hermoine are astounded to find out that Harry is indeed the boy who survived Voldemort. When the train stops at the school Hagrid instructs all of the first years to follow him. They take boats across a lake to the school, and then are seated. They must go through a sorting ceremony to see what house they are in.
