Twilight pages 313-374

In the morning, Bella wakes up and is happy that Edward is still with her. Edward reports that she told him that she loved him in her sleep. She acts as if he should have already known. Edward then invites Bella over to meet his family, and hopes that she will introduce him to her father as her boyfriend.
They leave for the Cullen's house. Edward introduces Carlisle, his adoptive father, Esme, his adoptive mother, and each of his adoptive siblings. Alice is very friendly with Bella, and makes an effort to make her feel accepted. Edward then plays a song he wrote about Bella on the piano. Bella nervously asks how Carlisle and Esme feel about her, and he replies telling her that they're happy as long as he's happy! Edward talks more about the family's history. Overall everyone is very happy with Bella.
Carlisle's story was the most interesting. Carlisle had been alive for over 300 years, and at first was depressed over becoming a vampire. He tried killing himself, but that didn't work. Carlisle started eating animals instead, and spent his time studying at Universities. He never felt like he fit in becausehe refused to drink human blood. Later he moved to America, where as a doctor he changed Edward. Edward admits to Bella with an ashamed look that as a young vampire he rebelled and did drink human blood until he developed a conscience.
After all the stories Edward takes Bella upstairs to show her his room. It's packed with CD's, and music. Bella notices that something is missing though. Edward does not have a bed. Edward explains that vampires never sleep. How awful that must be to not be able to check out of the world every once in a while. Edward tells Bella that they're is a storm coming, and asks her to play baseball with the family. She reluctantly agrees to play.
Edward takes Bella home, and tells her he'll be back to get her for baseball. Billy and Jacob Black are waiting for her when she gets inside. Billy tries to discuss Edward, but Bella acts annoyed and shows Billy and Jacob to the door. Charlie arrives home later after work, and Bella tells him about her and Edward. When Edward picks Bella up for baseball Charlie is impressed that he can get Bella to play ball with him and his family.
When they leave, Edward takes Bella to an empty field. The Cullens are playing baseball on a far larger diamond than Bella expected. The large field and thunder storm are both necessary for the Cullen's to play. The storm covers the sound of the ball cracking the bat due to their strength.
Bella stays along the sidelines avoiding the ball acting as the referee. The game ends in a rush when Alice has a vision (she has the ability to see the future). She sees a group of human-eating vampires passing through who stop to play their game. Bella will serve as the snack if the Cullen's don't get her out of there fast enough.
